Where materials become medics for the planet
KICCA extracts technological philosophy from algae—the ocean’s oldest life form—to reprogram material genetics through biotechnology:
Autonomous Natural Degradation: Through molecular structure design, algae-based materials achieve 100% biodegradation in any natural environment (seawater, soil, or freshwater) without requiring composting facilities or specific temperature/humidity conditions, completely eliminating the risk of microplastic residues.
High-Efficiency Carbon Capture Engine: Algae sequester 20 tons of carbon per hectare annually through photosynthesis (equivalent to 5x the capacity of tropical rainforests). The CO₂ absorbed during growth is permanently stored within the material matrix, forming a "mobile carbon reservoir.“
Full-Lifecycle Carbon-Negative Cycle: From raw material cultivation to product degradation, algae-based materials exhibit a lifecycle carbon footprint of -1.2kg CO₂e/kg (vs. +6kg for conventional plastics). A single 10,000-ton-capacity production line can offset the annual carbon sequestration equivalent of 56,000 mature oak trees.
Marine Ecosystem Enhancement: Large-scale algae cultivation absorbs an additional 8,000 tons of CO₂ per square kilometer of ocean annually, concurrently mitigating marine acidification and increasing dissolved oxygen levels, certified under the Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) for blue carbon projects.
